While she enjoyed teaching international students and adult immigrants, she now freelances as a technical writer in order to have more time to focus on her first love, fiction. A. It takes a huge amount of effort for me to remember to light a single candle rather than curse the darkness.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. Shrimp cocktail with a fried chicken chaser. What am I saying? Homemade noodle soup.

Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?

A. I always return to Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice.
