    I started off in a tiny school in the Black Mountains then I went to Brecon both in mid Wales and I finally ended up in the bright lights of London!

  • Favorite television show:
    I like comedy and films.

Q. How would you describe your life in only 8 words?
A. Slightly chaotic, quite noisy, always busy, never dull!
Q. What is your motto or maxim?
A. Keep your eye on the ball!
Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?
A. I suppose perfect happiness can be many things.... a twilight swim, a driftwood fire, watching the moonlit waves with my lovely husband & friends....mmmm happy times!
Q. What’s your greatest fear?
A. I won't tell you my greatest fear so I'll tell you a medium one: running out of coffee.
Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?
A. Writing in a round house on Famara Beach.
Q. With whom in history do you most identify?
A. Alfred the Great for burning cakes when his mind was on other things.
Q. Which living person do you most admire?
A. Gerard KilBride is the loveliest person in the world & he writes great music. My parents for their patience, love and complete support.
Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?
A. "Hands up if you can tell me....." when I'm in the classroom, I've got 31 kids in my class so things can get really noisy if everyone is shouting out!
Q. What do you regret most?
A. Not being very decisive.
Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?
A. To be able to illustrate like Sophie Tilley! I LOVE her illustrations for Princess Evie- I love her sketches and wish I could draw like that. I also would love to have an amazing singing voice and to be able to do back flips.
Q. What is your greatest achievement?
A. As a teacher I've helped many kids learn to read which is a magical process. I hope I've also managed to give them a love of a good story and books.
Q. What’s your greatest flaw?
A. Too many to mention! If you meet me you will begin to discover them for yourself soon enough!
Q. What’s your best quality?
A. As above, I hope!
Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?
A. I would like to be Finlay Cat for a little while. I would love to find out what he gets up to when he goes out on the town and also what its like to sleep for 23 hours a day! I wouldn't enjoy his food though!
Q. What trait is most noticeable about you?
A. I have grey striped hair and I wear a lot of black.
Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?
A. Max, King of the Wild Things- for knowing his own mind.
Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain?
A. Max, King of the Wild Things- for his restraint.
Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
A. Things that waste our planet's precious resources such as unnecessary packaging that then create mountains of litter.
Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?
A. Being with my class is a lot of fun and very rewarding. I also like to garden, to visit ancient sites and love to travel.
Q. What’s your fantasy profession?
A. To be a writer that sings and does back flips in her spare time.
Q. What 3 personal qualities are most important to you?
A. Faith, hope and charity!
Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?
A. There are loads of things that I would love to eat but I think I'd soon feel sick. I adore honey.

A. I have millions of favourite songs! If I could choose albums they would be: Hunky Dory- David Bowie, Still Crazy After All these Years- Paul Simon, Screamadelia- Primal Scream, Life Aquatic Sound Track, The Buena Vista Social Club, Afrianesque, Celtic Heartbeat- Van Morrison, Catraeth- Taran..... see what I mean! The list is endless!

A. Again I have a huge list that constantly changes, so current favourites are: Muriel Spark, Jenny Valentine, Dylan Thomas, Vera Southgate, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Eric Carle, Anton Chekov, Tove Jansson, Emily Gravett, Maurice Sendak, Angela Carter, Jeanette Winterson
Q. What are your 5 favorite books of all time?
A. This list changes all the time too! The Ant Colony, Love in The Time of Cholera, The Little Broomstick, Anna Karenina, Where the Wild Things Are, Dogger, Not Know Bernard!
