Q. What is your motto or maxim? A. Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better. (Samuel Beckett) Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero? A. Probably Elizabeth Bennett. Because she's mouthy when she should shut up. Q. How would you describe perfect happiness? A. I'm not sure there's any such thing. But it comes close when my kids are cuddled up and the husband is too and the dogs and it's snowing outside and there's a fire in the woodstove and we're playing games, reading books, or goofing around. That's just about perfect. Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain? A. Rochester. Oh wait! I love the obsequious nasty Uriah Heep too. Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?
