- Q. How would you describe your life in only 8 words?
- A. Life: Hang on tight. It's a wild ride.
- Q. What is your motto or maxim?
- A. What you believe shapes who you become!
- Q. Which living person do you most admire?
- A. Temple Grandin. She's an amazing woman and an author. She is also a professor at Colorado State Universtiy and she's autistic.
- Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?
- A. "I'll be done in five minutes." I say this a lot when I'm in the middle of writing and my kids want to go somewhere.
- Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?
- A. Playing the piano. I like to compose music but I'm very slow at it. If I could play the piano, it would help. I was a music composition major for about five minutes in college, but I was very slow at sight reading so I switched to music therapy and eventually speech pathology.
- Q. What is your greatest achievement?
- A. Three fantastic kids.
- Q. What’s your greatest flaw?
- A. When I'm writing I become hyper-focused on my story and I sometimes forget other things... like sleep, food, exercise, the location of my car keys, and when I last watered the tomato plant. Fortunately, I don't forget my family. They're louder than the tomato plant.

- Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain?
- A. Annie Wilkes from the novel MISERY by Stephen King. She tied up her favorite author and made him write an alternative ending to one of his books. I think she was misunderstood. Probably a frustrated writer.

- A. Tour guide at Disneyland. I don't even know if this job exists anymore, but when I was a kid my grandmother took me to Disneyland every summer. I always saw these people leading around tourists and taking them on all the rides. I thought that was the best job in the world because you got to go on the rides over and over again. I still think that would be the best job in the world.
- Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?
- A. Pepperoni Pizza - It's yummy, and it contains all the basic food groups.
